The sea is the source of life and the harbinger of death, a wondrous place that has inspired artists for centuries and kindled the fires of their creativity. It is the vast, unending emptiness that leads us to new, unexplored shores. We bring you a story of two women exploring the sea, both brave and fearful, and watch their evolution as they discover the power of the oceans. Accompanying this story is some of the best music ever written about the water, including: Eric Barnum's The Sounding Sea, Jaakko Mäntyjärvi's Canticum Calamitatis Maritimae, Rene Clausen's Tonight Eternity Alone, and Morten Lauridsen's Soneto de la Noche. Every work on this concert is among the best that each composer has written!
