Repat Armenia is hosting its eighth ‘’Ask Me: Live Q&A’’ event on July 17th starting at 5 pm (GMT+4). Our guest will be Sarine Arslanian, a repat from Belgium. Through a live feed, you will be able to connect with her directly, asking questions in real time about repatriation, life in Armenia and professional integration. Sarine Arslanian is a social-minded writer, documentary film director, photographer and visual anthropologist who believes in the power of stories to challenge mentalities, move to take action, bridge gaps, heal and inspire. Her work explores who we are in this world and how we connect with one another and the natural environment. A Diaspora Armenian from Belgium, Sarine has moved to her ancestral homeland in the summer of 2018 to use her talents and skills to help local communities as best as she can, while connecting with her own roots on a deeper level. There, she co-founded PATMI Cultural NGO; a cultural NGO which promotes community development in rural Armenia through art, storytelling and education. Since November 2018, PATMI has been active, mainly in Meghradzor, collecting people’s stories and turning them into murals in a space of cultural exchange, as well as teaching languages and organising cultural events and creative workshops. Sarine is fluent in English, French and Armenian, as well as proficient in Spanish, Portuguese and Dutch. Countries she has lived in before include Belgium, the UK, Rwanda, Indonesia and Guatemala. She has studied Development Studies at Cambridge, Cultural Studies and Social Anthropology at Kent and Filmmaking at Raindance. Save the date!
